Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all my friends who are mothers.

I had a wonderful day. What could be better than having Mother's Day and Pentecost on the same day? Pentecost in and of itself is a celebration at church and gives us a chance to do things that we wouldn't normally do. We let the Spirit move us. We decorate with red balloons to symbolize the tongues of fire. And no matter what Father John says, it looks cool!

After church, the Rev took me to the city for lunch. My family was very good this year, they didn't ask me what I wanted, (I hate it when they ask). They had a plan and executed it. They actually announced their plan at church. The kid stayed home so as to give Rev and I some time together, something we don't seem to get much of. We had a nice time together and a lunch at one of my favorite restaurants. He was even a good sport when I asked to do some shopping at Old Navy. I even made two trips to the dressing room and not once did he complain or give that look that says "Im a husband in retail pain".

We got home in time to take a nice relaxing bubble bath and enjoy some nice, quiet time.

The day ended with a phone call from my South Korean daughter "Su" (last year's exchange student).

With the exception of the cat sitting on the side of the tub and putting her tail in my bath water, the day was simply wonderful.

The "retail pain" would be considerably diminished if more stores offered chairs for us.
