We all are presented with them.
How we deal with them, ultimately is based on different things.
Today I was presented with the choice of whether or not to go to the Cayes. Cost wise it wasn't that bad ($40 per person and it included lunch). My problem was with the fact that I was not fulfilling my responsibilities to the team. I had ultimately came here to work and then play. How do you make a 14-year-old understand that unless your actions show it. Hence I chose not to go to the Cayes.

I did get to eat breakfast at the new (German) restaurant in town. It will be open again tomorrow but closed the rest of the week.

I also got to help with unloading all of the supplies at the hospital. Ok, maybe not a highlight of the trip.

I also got to see Joncunu (john canoe) dancers which is a celebration to mock the slave owners.

I also got to go to a Garifuna village where Father Mike performed services in a grass hut church.

Church was a similar experience to home but slightly different. Also it was fabulous to watch Mike. After all had come up for communion, he asked the choir (a group of 3 teens) to sing one more song while he went around the pews and gave a blessing to all those who did not come up for communion. I truly watched the light shine from eyes and I'm sure that I saw Jesus there with us.

I may not have had the experience of snorkeling or laying in the sun but I did enjoy what I did do and I know that God sent me here for a reason. That reason is to be amongst the people. Maybe Saturday Ill get to experience the beauty of his sea life here. Time will tell.

Tonight is the first night of compline and tomorrow Im scheduled to do screening at the school. All-in-all I am looking forward to getting started.
